10 Month Up-Date

Our little princess is 10 months old!! She is a tiny little thing, but such a sweet baby. Spencer and I could not be more in love with this precious girl. Audrey has spoiled us rotten because I really do think she is the best baby ever. She has slept through the night every night since she was two months old and naps twice a day without any problems. She is happy girl and is very content whether she is playing on the floor or being lugged all over town doing errands. She is an absolute angel, and we couldn't love her more!!

Spencer and I took Audrey to her Dr. appointment yesterday and found out that although she is a little behind in both her physical growth and motor skills, she is very healthy and the pediatrician is pleased with her progress. He recommended that we take her for a follow-up appointment with the specialist we saw in November, but he doesn't think there is any reason to be concerned, so for now we aren't!!

There are so many things I want to document about Audrey at this age. Just in the last 3 weeks or so she has been able to go from laying down to sitting up without any help. Now every time I go in to get her from her crib she is sitting up and greets me with a huge smile like she is so proud to be sitting!! Lowering the crib is on the "to-do" list for this weekend!!

Audrey does not crawl at this time, but she is very good at rolling to get to where she wants to be. She also isn't trying to pull herself up onto any furniture, which is ok with me at the moment!

She is so content to just lay on her stomach on the floor. The pediatrician did say that her fine motor skills are exceptional, and I have to agree!! The girl will lay on the carpet and pick up pieces of string and tiny fuzz balls with her thumb and pointer finger. When I hold her she tends to pick at any piece of lint that is on my shirt, her attention to detail is pretty outstanding!
Audrey loves her big brother, and enjoys watching whatever he is doing at all times of the day. One of the reasons she might not crawl yet is because I think she knows her brother will get her anything that she needs...he's a sucker for her, just like Spencer is!!

Audrey still has blue eyes and her hair seems to get a little lighter every day.

At 10 months Audrey:

• Weighs 14.5 lbs (<0>
• 27" long (18th percentile)
• Eats like crazy!!! She has eaten everything I have put in front of her, even lettuce!! I'm not sure where all the food goes since she doesn't gain any weight!
• Once you put her in her high chair you have to be ready to feed her immediately because she will scream until she gets food in her mouth.
• You can't eat anything around her, or she will scream and flap her arms at you until you share with her. (She is obsessed with food!)
• Will often scream to get what she wants, usually food or attention from Daddy. Why are girls such screamers? Owen was never like that!
• Will pull her hair when she is frustrated (like when food isn't coming fast enough)
• After every bite of food we give her, she shoves her two fingers in her mouth right afterwards like she is cramming it down so she can fit more food....it's really entertaining(and a chore) to feed this girl!
• Drinks from a cup
• Claps her hands (we are currently working on waving, pointing, & playing peek-a-boo since those are developmental milestones she needs to hit).
• Does extremely well riding in the stroller for extended periods of time and seems to enjoy sitting in the shopping cart at the grocery store
• Has little interest in crawling, pulling up, or taking steps when we hold her hands
• Easy to get her to smile and laugh
• Can entertain herself with toys for about 20 minutes at a time
• Is the best cuddler!! I love that she likes to be held and will cuddle with me when she is tired....so precious!!
• Tries to pull out my eyelashes and enjoys sticking her fingers in noses
• Will look at books, but she usually just wants to eat them. She will shove any paper that she can get a hold of in her mouth.
• Has recently showed interest in songs and she tries to participate when we are singing with Owen. Her participation is usually happy screams.
• Her favorite toys?? Cell phones, the tv remote, water bottles, and car keys. She really does love stuffed animals and has taken a special interest in her stuffed Curious George Monkey.
• Has become more clingy to me in the last month or so, but is still pretty willing to let others hold her. She does really well when we have to leave her with a babysitter.

We have been so blessed to have Audrey in our lives. She is a sweet little angel sent straight from heaven, I'm not sure how we got so lucky!! I am so proud to be her mom!
