My sweet little Owen turned 5 on December 11, 2012. I really can't believe that he is already five years old! (BTW these pictures are pictures of pictures which is why there is a lot of white speckles on them.) I wanted to share his five year old pictures as well as document a little bit about Owen at this fun age.
Owen has been going to Preschool two days a week and absolutely LOVES it. His school is awesome, I can't say enough good things about it. Once a month the school has "Birthday Day" where they celebrate all of the kid's birthdays for that month. Owen was the only one in his class with a birthday in December so he felt extra special. Here he is at his school by the inflatable birthday cake with the balloon and birthday crown his teacher gave him. He was thrilled to have his classmates sing Happy Birthday to him.
These last 3 pictures are from Owen's actual birthday. We took him out to dinner and met up with both sets of grandparents for a fun night. After dinner we came back to our house and had cupcakes and Owen opened his presents. He is REALLY into dressing up right now so Spencer and I gave him 3 new costumes to add to his ever growing collection. The pirate costume was a HUGE hit with all three of the kids as you can see from the pictures.
Since Owen's birthday both Owen and Audrey play dress up just about everyday. It's so fun to watch them play together and use their imaginations as they play dress up. Audrey is such a good sport and doesn't mind being a firefighter, or astronaut, even though I know she would probably rather be a princess!
More things about Owen at 5:
-Really into Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, Super Heros (especially the Avengers), and Star Wars.
-Favorite shows include: Phineas and Ferb, Ninja Turtles, Scooby-Doo and Ninjago
-Loves to dress up and pretend. Right now he seems to like being a Knight the most
-Enjoys school and has really learned a lot! Was student of the month the first month he started at his new school
-Knows all of his letters and the sounds they make. Knows his numbers and can do very simple addition.
-Can write his first and last name as well as several other letters
-Can recognize easy words like mom, dad, Audrey, etc.
-Is a VERY good big brother to both Audrey and Preston
-Enjoys going to church and getting to know the other kids there
-Favorite colors are blue, green, and red. And loves chocolate ice cream!
-He says his best friends are Jackson and Audrey...he really does love his sister
-Enjoys going to Disneyland. His favorite ride is Buzz Lightyear
Owen is a sweet little boy, and very helpful to his mom. He is pretty obedient and doesn't like to be in trouble. Owen has become a lot more self-reliant this last year can do a lot of things without help. He is kind, good natured, and loving. Owen enjoys playing with other kids and can get along with just about anyone. He is friendly and makes friends easily. He can be a little hyper and rambunctious at times, but can usually be reigned in easily. Owen has an excellent memory and will often bring up things that happened over a year ago. He enjoys talking and telling stories. Owen is a joy to have in our home and an excellent addition to our family.
