This summer we discovered a new place to go to keep cool on the hottest summer days. Not very far from our house is a new water park called The Cove. It's a smaller park, but perfect for my kids. We had the privilege of going three times to The Cove this summer, and not once did we get sick of going. We all had a blast every time!
Trip number 1 was early in the summer. We went with our old playgroup from Moreno Valley and my nieces happened to be in town from Idaho, so I was thrilled to be able to bring them along as well. We don't get to see the girls that often so it was a special treat for both myself as well as for my kids to have them there with us for entire day. My mom was kind enough to watch Preston that day so I could fully enjoy the day with Owen, Audrey, and my nieces, Maddie and Hailey. It was awesome having the two older girls around because they were so helpful!! For a split second I started to think that I could handle having more kids....don't worry that thought went away as quickly as it came! Ha ha!!
My kids had a blast playing with some of their friends that we don't get to see very often anymore. Here's Owen with his two buddies, Jackson and Austin. these three played nonstop the entire day.
Owen also got to see Kaelyn. I LOVE that these two are still friends!!
This little girl is quite the daredevil and little miss independent! She loved the freedom of being able to go down the slides all by herself. At 3 years old Audrey learned to swim and is actually quite good. She jumps off the waterfall at our house and can swim across our entire pool with her face in the water and everything. It makes me smile at how much my children LOVE to swim and LOVE to be in the water. Audrey seriously could have lived at this water park all summer long and never gotten sick of it!
While participating in the summer reading program at our library this summer the kids earned free passes to The Cove which is why we went back 2 more times! Trip #2 was with some of my oldest friends and their kids who also earned free passes. It was another fun day with the Viers and the Salines.
Yesterday was our last trip to The Cove for this summer. We met up with Jennifer and her kids for a final Hoorah to summer. Owen actually started Kindergarten on Monday (so crazy that he started in August!! more to come on that later) so we went to the water park after he got out of school. It was a great day with our friends, and even Preston got to join the fun this time. I can't believe that summer has already come to an end. We are just starting a new chapter in our lives now that Owen will be in school everyday and Audrey will be starting preschool. The days of never ending play are over....makes me a little sad. But at least we enjoyed our summer, can't wait for next year!!
