Living Nativity Choir
Every year our church presents a living nativity pageant celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and the true meaning of Christmas. We have gone in years past and have always been impressed by how well it's put together. This year my children were asked to be part of the pageant by singing in the children's choir. I thought this would be such a great experience for them. They were actually excited about it.....up until tonight. Both Owen and Audrey were a little grouchy and it didn't help that it was so FREEZING outside. They wanted nothing to do with being a part of the choir. They stood up in front of everyone and just stood there; neither one of them sang one word, they actually looked miserable. No smiles, no emotion at all. Such a proud moment as parents right? I guess performing arts isn't going to be their thing.
After the failed choir experience the kids were over the entire thing and just wanted to go home and get warm. As we were walking to our car Audrey spotted the donkey and wouldn't leave until she got to brush it. Leave it to an animal to get Audrey excited about Christ's birth. Oh well, kids will be kids I guess. There's always next year.
