Day 9: Thoroughbred Lights

Tonight we continued our yearly tradition by going to see the Christmas Lights on Thoroughbred Lane. This is something Spencer and I have done together every December since we met way back in High School. The only time we've missed was the two years Spencer was on his mission. When we were younger we would walk the lights 2, 3, or 4 times during the season. It was the place to be, and several kids that we went to high school with lived on the street, so it was always a fun time. We've loved being able to continue the tradition with our kids, even though now we find it difficult to find the time to make it even once. The older we get the busier life becomes I guess.

We brought our wagon thinking that the kids could take a break if they got tired from walking. That worked out pretty well, except that Preston was NOT having it! He insisted on walking (or running, or crawling under fences to touch the lights) the entire time. Despite being a tiny bit on the naughty side I was pretty impressed that Preston walked the entire street up and back! Impressive for an 18 month old. My 5and 3 year old sat in the wagon the whole night.

We had a great night and really enjoyed seeing all the lights. Nothing like Thoroughbred Lane to get us in the Christmas spirit!!
