Even though we had an amazing birthday celebration with Owen and his cousins at Disneyland yesterday, of course we had to celebrate on his actual 6th birthday too! I seriously can't believe that he's six, where has the time gone?
Owen is all about Ninja Turtles right now, so I picked up some turtle decorations and cake and Owen loved it! We took our birthday boy out to dinner then came back to our house for presents and cake with Uncle Cody, Aunt Allison, Harper, and Grandma and Grandpa Bell.
Watching Owen open his presents was hysterical! He was so excited about each and every gift. There was lots of excited yelling, and shouting "Yes!! It's just what I wanted!!" We all had a blast watching Owen and loving how happy he was. My dad was laughing so hard at one point he was almost in tears. Gotta love kids on their birthdays!
Owen got a lot of ninja turtle stuff for his birthday, but Cody and Allison went a different route and got him these awesome Darth Vader shoes that make heavy breathing noises just like the real Darth Vader. Owen loved them and I'm sure he will be wearing them to school every day!
Owen is such a good kid and such a good big brother to Audrey and Preston. He's very friendly and is usually happy. Aside from Ninja Turtles Owen is into Star Wars, Legos, The Avengers, dressing up, riding his bike and scooter, swimming, and enjoys trying new sports. Owen is enjoying kindergarten and looks forward to going to school everyday. He is obedient and may have taken on some of his mother's traits. He's slightly OCD, especially about where his toys go. He's neat and doesn't like messes. Owen still doesn't like to try eating new things and still prefers chicken nuggets, quesadillas, grilled cheese sandwiches, and pizza. We love our Owen boy and can't wait to see what the next year has in store for him.
